Resumo: The present work refers to the so-called Generation of 45 in Brazil, also known as neomodernist, whose main characteristic was the rupture of the modernist pattern imposed by previous generations. The authors of the generation of 45 presented extensive innovations in aesthetic research, also in the forms of expression within Brazilian literature, and it was a literary movement that reviewed and criticized modernism, but did not constitute an organic group assembled through a manifesto. The main objective of this research centered on the generational question of these Brazilian writers, focuses on the sociology of culture, and demonstrates how their trajectories intertwine and influence the exchange of ideas, with big changes in literary production, in explicit opposition to the movements of the 1920s. It is proved that there was, after the modernists of 22, a new generation of critics, poets and essayists, known as the generation of 45. The result of the survey concerning the trajectories of the participants of different groups at that time, shows exclusively that these groups can be seen, therefore, as a unique generation, that sought recognition in the literary field of that period. The idea of a single generation was invoked at the very time it occurred, both by the new characters and by the observers of the time. The way how the 1945 generation was organized, was explained with Mannheim concepts, and proved extensively through the research of the personal trajectories of the members of that generation. The differences between this generation and the previous one, another important point of discussion at the time, were also analyzed in the case studies of the research, showing how the concrete groups of the 1945 generation manifested themselves in opposition to the 1922 modernists, through articles and Poems they published in literary magazines and newspapers, often in supplements and literary foot notes, characteristic of this generation. Other literary manifestations also occurred, through poetry conferences, clubs and literary cafes, an important legacy of that time. Thus, the present work identifies and registers the role and importance of these publications in the origin and development of Brazilian cultural production of that period, since it was in this context that the new writers of the time carried out their works. Magazines and newspapers were voices for authors who pronounced themselves on their pages with articles, manifestos, critical essays, poems, short stories, fragments of novels, literary reviews, etc. The generation of 1945 is also a custodian of greater state intervention in education in the 1930s, in one hand, at the federal level, by the initiatives of the Ministry of Education and Public Health, in the other, with the founding of the University of São Paulo, by the state government of São Paulo. This phenomenon presents itself as an important counterpoint to the previous generation, also called the generation of “self-taught polygraphs”. Finally, the conclusion is that the Generation of 45 is in fact a generation, a cohesive movement, with historical relevance, specially by it’s independent, autonomous and divergent positioning in relation to previous generations

This phenomenon presents itself as an important counterpoint to the previous generation, also called the generation of “self-taught polygraphs”. Finally, the conclusion is that the Generation of 45 is in fact a generation, a cohesive movement, with historical relevance, specially by it’s independent, autonomous and divergent positioning in relation to previous generationsO presente trabalho se refere à chamada Geração de 45 no Brasil, também conhecida como neomodernista, que teve como principal característica a ruptura do padrão modernista imposto pelas gerações anteriores. Os autores da geração de 45 apresentaram extensas inovações na pesquisa estética e também nas formas de expressão da literatura brasileira, e se constituiu num movimento literário que revisou e criticou o modernismo, mas não chegou a constituir um grupo orgânico reunido através de um manifesto. O principal objetivo dessa pesquisa centrou-se na questão geracional desses literatos brasileiros, pois trata-se de um enfoque da sociologia da cultura, e demonstra como suas trajetórias se entrelaçam e influenciam a troca de ideias, com mudanças marcantes na produção literária, em oposição explícita aos movimentos da década de 1920. Com a presente tese, pretende-se provar que houve, sim, após os modernistas de 22, uma nova geração de críticos, poetas e ensaístas, conhecida como a geração de 45. O resultado do levantamento referente às trajetórias dos participantes dos diferentes grupos da época, mostra exclusivamente que esses grupos, portanto, podem ser vistos como uma geração única, que buscava reconhecimento no campo literário daquele período. A ideia de uma geração singular foi invocada no próprio tempo em que ocorreu, tanto pelos novos personagens, quanto pelos observadores de então. A forma como a geração de 1945 se organizava, foi explicada com conceitos de Mannheim, e comprovada extensivamente através da pesquisa das trajetórias pessoais dos integrantes dessa geração. As diferenças entre essa geração e a anterior, outro importante ponto de discussão da época, também foram analisadas nos estudos de casos da pesquisa, mostrando como os grupos concretos da geração de 1945 se manifestavam em oposição aos modernistas de 1922, por meio de artigos e poemas que publicavam em revistas literárias e jornais, muitas vezes em suplementos e rodapés literários, característicos dessa geração. Outras manifestações literárias também ocorreram, através de congressos de poesia, clubes e cafés literários, importante legado dessa época. Assim, o presente trabalho identifica e registra o papel e a importância dessas publicações na origem e desenvolvimento da produção cultural brasileira desse período, pois foi nesse contexto que os novos escritores da época realizaram suas obras. As revistas e os jornais foram porta-vozes de autores que se pronunciavam em suas páginas com artigos, manifestos, ensaios críticos, poemas, contos, fragmentos de romances, críticas literárias, etc. A geração de 1945 é, ainda, caudatária de maior intervenção estatal na educação na década de 1930, de um lado, na esfera federal, pelas iniciativas do Ministério da Educação e Saúde Pública, de outro, com a fundação da Universidade de São Paulo, pelo governo estadual de São Paulo. Esse fenômeno apresenta-se como contraponto importante diante da geração anterior, também chamada de geração de “polígrafos autodidatas”. Enfim, a conclusão é que a Geração de 45 constitui-se de fato numa geração, num movimento coeso, com relevância histórica, principalmente pelo posicionamento independente, autônomo e divergente em relação às gerações anterioresapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/42010/Ana%20Paula%20Meyer%20Velloso.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Ciências SociaisPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Ciências SociaisGeração de 45Literatos - BrasilLiteratura brasileira - Século 20CulturaGeneration of 45Brazilian literatureCNPQ::LINGUISTICA, LETRAS E ARTES::LINGUISTICA::LINGUISTICA APLICADANeomodernistas de 1945: uma querela de geraçõesinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/doctoralThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTAna Paula Meyer Velloso.pdf.txtAna Paula Meyer Velloso.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain524025https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/19998/4/Ana%20Paula%20Meyer%20Velloso.pdf.txt3ba467574900eee38d65475813e71621MD54LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
