Resumo: The purpose of this study is to examine the overall behavior of building structures constructed with reinforced concrete walls when subjected to vertical loads and horizontal forces. The main focus is to analyze how forces are distributed throughout the building and investigate the portion of the structure that transitions between the walls and the rest of the construction. To achieve this objective, we used numerical simulations based on the Finite Element Method, with the assistance of the ANSYS software. We created an alternative model that allows us to better understand how the building's structure behaves, especially in the transition area where beams, walls, and slabs interact. This model helps us automatically account for the arch effect, addressing a common issue that designers face when obtaining the necessary parameters for this analysis. It's worth noting that our study did not focus on very tall and slender buildings. The results we present include information about the horizontal displacement of different floors, how normal forces, shear forces, and bending moments are distributed in the walls, as well as an analysis of shear forces at the vertical interfaces of the walls and internal forces in the transition pillars and beams. Our comparisons indicate that the alternative model we developed, using three-dimensional elements to simulate the transition part, shell elements for the walls in the arch region, and linear elements for the walls on the floors above this area, following a configuration similar to Yagui's, is accurate enough to effectively analyze the structure of buildings with this type of construction. Furthermore, our study contributes to the development of Brazilian standards currently under discussion related to construction with reinforced concrete walls

Ambos os sistemas têm características únicas que podem impactar significativamente o resultado final de uma obra. As paredes de concreto armado são amplamente utilizadas em construções tradicionais e oferecem alta resistência e durabilidade. No entanto, elas podem demandar mais tempo de construção e mão de obra especializada. Além disso, o custo inicial pode ser mais elevado devido aos materiais e processos envolvidos. Por outro lado, as paredes de drywall são conhecidas por sua rapidez na montagem, o que pode acelerar o cronograma da obra. Elas são leves, fáceis de manusear e oferecem flexibilidade no design de interiores. No entanto, sua resistência mecânica e capacidade de isolamento acústico e térmico podem ser menores em comparação com o concreto armado. Este estudo buscará destacar os aspectos positivos e negativos de ambos os métodos, considerando critérios como custo, tempo, desempenho estrutural, isolamento, sustentabilidade e facilidade de construção.
