Grief (FREUD, 1917) is an expected psychic process in the face of the death of a significant person, implying psychosocial changes and changes in the assumed world of those who experience it (FRACO 2011). The way children experience this process is related to the psychological resources they present, depending on their stage of development, in addition to the relationship and type of attachment developed with the parent. This study uses Melanie Klein's conceptions of object relations (1932, 1935, 1940, 1946, 1970, 1976, 1986) and the attachment theory of John Bowlby (1907, 1979, 1989, 1993). For this research, we studied children bereaved by paternal loss who are in the preoperative Piagetian period because, according to Franco and Mazorra (2007), at this moment, the child still understands death as a reversible phenomenon, besides being ruled by magical and egocentric thinking, which may favor the attribution to himself of the responsibility for the loss of the beloved object, generating guilt and possibly fantasies around the death of the genitor, a factor that will be analyzed in this study. For the development of this study, the Story-Drawing Procedure was applied to a 7-year-old male child. Therefore, through the interpretation of the drawing and the stories with the expression of possible fantasies of guilt, it was possible to capture the dynamics of mourning for the loss of the father
