Resumo: The episode of the blind man mendicate Bartimaeus is present in the three synoptic accounts of the Gospel. It represents not just a miracle of healing, but it opens our understanding to the call to missionary discipleship. This study, based on the account as reported in the Gospel according to Mark, intends to immerse the reader in the universe of faith, perseverance and disciple protagonism that is completed with the free and unmeasured mercy of this God who wishes to be with us, desires to be with us. Through a brief hermeneutic-theological study, this work aims to encourage in the reader a process of identification with the characters involved so that, in a process of metanoia, they can serve God well in community, calls for responsibility towards the gradual healing of a world largely indifferent to social exclusion, to the needs of others. Indifference excludes and endorses a culture of death that is not in line with the teachings of Jesus Christ, our Lord

Não se resume tão somente a um milagre de cura, mas abre-nos a compreensão para o chamado ao discipulado missionário. Este estudo, baseado no relato de Marcos, pretende conduzir à imersão no universo de fé, perseverança e protagonismo discipular que se completa com a misericórdia gratuita e desmedida desse Deus que quer estar conosco, deseja ser conosco. Através de um breve estudo hermenêutico-teológico, este trabalho deseja suscitar no leitor um processo de identificação com os personagens envolvidos para, então, num processo de metanoia, bem servir a Deus em comunidade, sentir-se responsável pela cura gradativa de um mundo sobremaneira indiferente à exclusão social, às necessidades do próximo.
