This study has as objective the Brotherhood of Our Lady of Rosary of black man on the city of Mogi das Cruzes/SP, who the church was pull down on the decade of 1960, with the foundation of the episcopal providence of Mogi das Cruzes, to give his place to a hotel e commercial center in the city. After a hole panorama about the religion brought of Portugal, about the official position of the Church above the colonization and the effective action of the religious order in the period, is highlighted the paper of the brotherhood in the organization of the layman inside the Church. In general lines, is also study the religion of the African people, brought to Brazil as slaves: your uses and costumes and the adaption process into a new religion. And at least it was make an analyses about the few registers who was found it on the Metropolitan Archive from de Archdiocese of São Paulo who says about the Brotherhood of Rosary of Mogi to compare with the models of the Brotherhood that exist in Minas Gerais on the XVII century, what allow us to prove your effective existence in the period of 1746 to 1932, although it was not clear why the Brotherhood has disappear, as organization, and consequently the abandon of the building of the Church of Rosary
