Within the context of international trade, the competitiveness of agricultural exports plays a pivotal role in sustaining economic stability and growth of nations. Brazil, being one of the largest producers and exporters of agricultural products, is situated in a continuously evolving and adapting scenario to the changes in market dynamics and international trade policies. These shifts necessitate an in-depth analysis to understand their impact on the country’s export competitiveness. The theory of Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) provides a quantitative lens through which to assess this competitiveness. This paper aims to discuss the competitiveness of Brazilian agricultural exports, employing the RCA theory to frame Brazil’s performance against the backdrop of shifts in international trade policies and market demands. The research question focuses on how these changes have influenced the competitiveness of Brazilian agricultural exports over recent decades, from the perspective of the RCA theory. The methodology involves a qualitative and descriptive literature review with a bibliographic approach, examining existing literature and relevant data pertaining to the subject. Results demonstrate that products such as soy, raw sugar, and coffee have maintained significant comparative advantages over time, while others have faced increasing challenges. The analysis of RCA indices indicated that Brazilian agricultural exports have been impacted by a variety of factors, including the efficacy of export policies, technological changes, and global consumption trends. In conclusion, the study confirms that the RCA theory is instrumental in understanding the competitiveness of Brazilian agricultural exports. The patterns of RCA reflect Brazil’s capacity to adapt to global shifts and maintain its significance in the international market. Sustaining competitiveness necessitates attentiveness to market trends and the implementation of dynamic export strategies that respond to the challenges identified
