This study's general objective is to analyze the extent and limits of parents' civil liability for illegal acts committed by their minor children, evaluating the effectiveness and justice of this legal mechanism in protecting victims and promoting responsible behavior. Specifically, it seeks to identify the legal foundations of this responsibility in Brazilian law, with an emphasis on the Civil Code and relevant jurisprudence; evaluate the criteria and conditions that may justify the exclusion of parental responsibility, investigating practical cases and preventive measures that demonstrate diligence and adequate supervision of children; and point out the social and educational impact of this accountability, exploring how it influences family education, the prevention of illegal acts and the formation of ethical and responsible behaviors among minors. The methodology to be used in the research consists mainly of bibliographical research. The sources consulted will include periodicals, internet articles, legislation and jurisprudence, among others, with the aim of obtaining a broad view of the responsibility of parents for the illicit acts of minor children. The study will be based on a survey of available materials, which will be carefully read and recorded. The selected and classified information will be organized according to the requirements of the topic to guide the study. With the results of the research, it was possible to conclude that the civil liability of parents for illegal acts committed by their minor children is an extremely important issue, which requires a fair and comprehensive approach. Brazilian legislation establishes a robust basis for this responsibility, based on risk theory and the protection of victims' rights. However, the practical implementation of these laws must take into account the complexities of contemporary family life and the multiple influences that shape young people's behavior. By ensuring that parents effectively perform their roles as educators and protectors, society facilitates the formation of responsible citizens and contributes to the construction of a fairer and safer social environment
