This research took shape from a concern to help in the movement to destigmatize autism as a disease. With this in mind, the work started from a psychoanalytic perspective and sought to investigate the principles of the psychic constitution of the autistic individual and their way of functioning, taking into account the issues raised in the historical trajectory of the discovery of Autism Spectrum Disorder. In this way, by analyzing the entry into language of these subjects, as well as investigating their relationship with so-called autistic objects, the formation of autistic defenses and interaction with the social, the research sought to understand the contribution of such factors to the psychic formation of these subjects. By that, the research sought to contribute to knowledge about the determinants in the psychic formation of autistic subjects from a perspective that takes into account the singular mode of subjective functioning
