Resumo: Current children's literature demonstrates a certain level of care regarding the content and plot of stories, which now tend to feature more democratic discourses that prioritize diversity and the expansion of representations of gender, race, and culture. However, contemporary productions are still abundant in reproducing and constructing a symbolic universe of representations that contribute to the maintenance of a hegemonic model of civilization. To understand how children's literature consolidates a structure that reproduces and constructs a notion of civilizational hierarchy rooted in Eurocentrism, considering the impact of discourse and language on the constitution of identities, an analysis of the imagery and textual discourses of three children's books published in 2022, 2010, and 2012 was undertaken. The aim was to discern the choices of elements and character representations that make up the narrative, as well as their stance towards language. The analysis of these works revealed how the choices of characters, elements, objects, and attire construct a storyline with symbolic representations that reinforce a Eurocentric worldview, laden with symbolic violence towards realities that diverge from this way of life

No entanto, ainda são vastas as produções contemporâneas que reproduzem e constroem um universo simbólico de representações que colaboram para a manutenção de um modelo de civilização hegemônico. Para compreender como a literatura infantil consolida uma estrutura que reproduz e constrói uma noção de hierarquia civilizatória a partir do eurocentrismo, tendo em vista o efeito do discurso e da linguagem na constituição de identidades, foi empreendida uma análise dos discursos imagéticos e textuais de três livros infantis, publicados em 2022, 2010 e 2012. O intuito foi perceber as escolhas dos elementos e representações das personagens que compõem a narrativa, bem como a sua posição em relação à linguagem.
