Resumo: The present work aims at an analysis of the general aspects of football sponsorship contracts. From the large amount of money embraced by sponsorships in sports, entertainment, and other spheres worldwide, it would already make justifiable, in the first instance, the growth of discussions and articles at the academic level about this type of contract. Furthermore, sponsorship permeates and intertwines intimately with individuals' absolute passions, such as sport and music.This essay intends to offer an initial approach to sponsorship contracts, placing it from the perspective of the principles and classifications inherent to the contractual theory, so that it is possible to identify them more clearly, despite their absence in the legal diplomas of the Brazilian legal systemIn another measure, it seeks to bring relevance and focus to sponsorship contracts, which are of expressive use in commercial interests, but lack a doctrinal and academic approach, which allows their confusion with other types of contracts and ends up, in practical terms, generating doubts about its application, its execution and its better elaboration

Valendo-se apenas das grandes cifras movimentadas pelas competições desportivas, já tornaria justificável, em primeira medida, o crescimento das discussões e artigos em nível acadêmico acerca deste instituto. Para além, o direito de arena permeia e se entrelaça de forma íntima com paixões absolutas dos indivíduos, tais como os esportes pelo mundo. Almeja-se, neste ensaio, uma abordagem inicial sobre direito de arena, colocá-lo sobre a óptica das entidades de prática desportiva, dos atletas, dos torcedores em geral, bem como dos meios de transmissão. Ainda, busca trazer relevância e enfoque ao direito de arena e sua aplicabilidade no Brasil, a qual foi muito debatida recentemente, com diversas alterações legislativas referentes ao tema.
