“A igreja em saída”: uma reflexão na perspectiva do diaconato permanente

In writing his first Apostolic Exhortation Evangelii Gaudium, the Joy of the Gospel, Pope Francis calls for a Church on the way out, which comes out of itself and goes out to meet people, in the most varied situations and especially towards the poor, according to the preferential option for the poor made by the Church from Latin America. The Church in Exit is for everyone, whether they belong to the clergy or lay people, because every baptized Christian has the mission of evangelizing, starting from the weakest and oppressed, those who need it most. We will deal specifically with the mission of the Permanent Deacon, who, upon receiving the double sacramentality: of marriage and order, must maintain balance in his relationships with the family and the community he serves. In his ministry the permanent deacon receives the triple diakonia: charity, liturgy and the word. Without belittling any, we understand that the diakonia of charity associated with the others, assumes a primordial character, because through it the deacon brings the joy of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, in its essence, that is, through the experience of fraternal love to the most needy brothers. Thus, we present some examples of people who gave almost exclusively to the needy, as a form of inspiration for the mission, and some areas of work inherent to the permanent diaconate, such as working with the homeless population, the prison ministry and the ministry of hope
