Resumo: This monograph aims to conduct research on adoption by homoaffective couples, in order to highlight the legal, doctrinal and jurisprudence aspects of this topic. The first chapter will address the historical evolution of the adoption of antiquity to the present day. The second chapter aims to study the adoption itself, highlighting its concept, legal nature, requirements and effects. The third and final chapter will deal with homoaffective unions from their exclusion by society until their recognition by the higher courts
