Resumo: The Metropolitan Region of São Paulo is characterized by a large urban area of high population density, where the spaces are products of a spoliation process of the poorest of the metropolis. Stigmatizing relations within the peripheral areas and outside them is a result of the segregation of games historically built to separate the holders of socially produced assets of those who produce them. The way to rank the places is the same by which it is the social position of the subjects in the metropolis. The city of Carapicuíba characterized historically as a dormitory town is one of the places marked as poverty in the metropolitan context, set on a subordinate basis, produces and reproduces the stigmatization of elements of the population, where the distance is understood as poor, dirty, disqualified, marginal, villain, prostitute, drug user, and other socially undesirable attributes for socializing in urbanity. The neighborhoods that served as a micro cut for a macro approach of all is that the city, the Housing Complex President Castelo Branco and the Municipal Villa, are places where stigmatization is recurrent and standing on its residents. We assume as hypothesis that the processes which such subjects occur in the neighborhoods in the city and beyond, is a feedback continues reinforcing the subjectivity denial denial to realize an identity to the place in order to transform it and deconstruct the values stigmatizing. The complaint dates back to present the contradictions that the capitalist system of production and consumption of urban space prints on the reality of social subjects. Elements that confirm our hypothesis that living in poor suburbs and take such a condition is to build a deteriorated identity in that undesirable behavioral elements in the eyes of the Other can be identified and allocated to them in the relationships within and outside the city, within and between neighborhoods and with the metropolis. The analysis method, we conducted direct and participant observation with field work and in-depth interviews in qualitative to capture the feeling that stigma has on the subject in neighborhoods in the city and in the metropolis. The Marxist approach captures the dialectic in which the contradictions present in time and space permanently, their production and reproduction for maintaining a system which excludes to include unevenly those who seek to live in urban areas. The work is divided into three chapters that aim to achieve your goal is the realization of a permanent and recurrent stigmatization of residents of Carapicuíba, with the construction of the argument in search of an objective summary, explanatory and denouncing the reality of the residents of Carapicuíba. The first chapter describes the formative processes of the city in its historical and social aspects. In the second presenting the analysis of concepts of the city, the dimensions of studying the micro to achieve the macro, the relationship between urbanization and poverty and presents the districts under study. In the third chapter develop the analysis of interviews and concepts that explain the stigmatization of poverty in unequal society, and also shows the factors that promote their permanence in time and space of the dormitory town

In the third chapter develop the analysis of interviews and concepts that explain the stigmatization of poverty in unequal society, and also shows the factors that promote their permanence in time and space of the dormitory townA Região Metropolitana de São Paulo é caracterizada por uma grande mancha urbana de alta densidade demográfica, onde os espaços são produtos de um processo de espoliação das camadas mais pobres da metrópole.
