The present research was conducted as a Greimasian semiotic analysis of obsessive neurosis and its manifestations, such as acts, thoughts, rituals, impulses, and sanctions. To accomplish this, the study chronologically examined Freud's works that could contribute to the theory of obsessive neuroses, ranging from Early Psycho-analytic Publications to Inhibition, Symptoms and Anxiety, exploring key concepts for understanding the framework, such as masochism, anxiety, doubt, and affective ambivalence. Additionally, a theoretical investigation was conducted to gather the main notions belonging to the generative trajectory of meaning in Greimasian semiotics, providing sufficient theoretical support for the subsequent analysis, which focused on the analysis of narrative syntax. Since the analysis of narrative syntax presupposes the conception of a spectacle, efforts were made to determine its participants and their roles. This allowed for an approximation of the actantial roles present in the narrative stage to the psychic instances postulated in Freud's second topography, comprehending the ego as the subject of action, which acts upon the world through the establishment and rupture of contracts. The fulfillment or non-fulfillment of such agreements confers positive or negative sanctions, perceived as pleasure and displeasure. Finally, potential new paths were indicated for the continuation of the dialogue between these fields of knowledge
