The objective of this research is to examine the use of the computer room and new technologies present for the rehabilitation and improvement project called "Números em Ação" of Sâo Paulo state in Brazil, as support for studnts with learning problems in the discipline of mathematics from 5 th and 6 th grades of elementary school. Data collection was performed by means of semi-structured interviews with teachers and students of the Board of Education of the Region of Caieiras, who participated directly in the project in 2007, checking the data with those collected by the tool "Termômetro" software also available on the project. For the analysis of issues investigated are used mainly on the theoretical contributions of Dowbor (2001 and 2002), Fonseca Jr. (2002), Hargreaves (2004), Masetto (2000 and 2002), Moran (2000) and Valente (2005) on the importance and care in the use of "new technologies" in the learning process and recovery of students. The results showed that both students as teachers were met and had a positive view of the application and implementation of these activities throughout the project: but, a closer examination, there were some structural problems and presentation of content. However, the final conclusions show is optimistic about the use of new media and technological resources in the rehabilitation and strengthening of students in the discipline of mathematics: because with them, the dropout rate was much smaller, there was a greater incentive for students to seek redress their difficulties - and finally the students showed greater motivation in carrying out activities, because many were presented as games, animations and videos
