Resumo: This study investigates the elements of fear in horror cinema and their impact on the viewer's experience. It involved a comprehensive analysis of specialized literature and a meticulous assessment of paradigmatic films in the genre. Drawing inspiration from the mastery of "The Blair Witch Project" in instilling terror through an oppressive atmosphere and the skillful use of visual and auditory elements, efforts were made to enrich the production of the short film. Additionally, valuable insights were gained from short films such as "The Other Side of the Box," "Piggy," and "The Dead Collectors," which served as the research foundation. The production of the short film took place within the premises of PUC Consolação campus, despite facing challenges related to location availability and recording equipment, necessitating resourcefulness and adaptability. This study underscores the significance of visual, auditory, and narrative elements in creating an emotionally profound experience for the audience within the context of horror cinema. By bridging theory and practice, this work provides a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms that underlie the production and reception of works within the genre

Realizou-se uma análise abrangente da literatura especializada e uma avaliação minuciosa de filmes paradigmáticos do gênero. Inspirando-se na maestria de "A Bruxa de Blair" em instigar o terror por meio de uma atmosfera opressiva e do uso habilidoso de elementos visuais e sonoros, buscou-se enriquecer a produção do curta-metragem. Além disso, obteve-se insights valiosos em curtas-metragens como "The Other Side of the Box", "Piggy" e "The Dead Collectors", que serviram como base para a pesquisa. A produção do curta-metragem ocorreu nas instalações do campus da PUC Consolação, embora tenham enfrentado desafios relacionados à disponibilidade de locais e ao material de gravação, o que exigiu engenhosidade e adaptabilidade.
