The Brazilian legal system honors the family life and the affection for the formation of a healthy individual. However, some family conflicts, especially those related to the termination of the relationship of a couple, can have serious consequences for the minor child. The Parental Alienation arises in this context, when one of the parents, nursed feelings of hatred and frustration, use the offspring to avenge the former spouse / ex-partner, creating devices to break the emotional bond between the child and the other parent. The union of these alienating acts with the child's own contribution which is already contaminated the triggers of Parental Alienation Syndrome, an extremely harmful to the physical and psychological development of the child disorder, it generates serious emotional and behavioral sequelae. The objective of this study is to deepen the studies on parental alienation syndrome, ranging from their general and legal aspects to their relationship with the institute of civil liability
