Resumo: | Objective: To assess the association between quality of life and the presence of voice disorder in teachers of the Municipality of São Paulo. Method: observational casecontrol, matched by school, accomplished through the use of database, collected for other research and with prior approval. The sample consisted of 272 teachers in this study were female, with 167 cases and 105 controls, aged 20 years and a maximum of 65 years, all teachers of municipal schools in São Paulo. For this study we analyzed the data of the interview Condition Vocal Production Teacher (CPV-P) and The World Health Organization Quality of Life/bref (WHOQOL/bref). Results: the aspects related to the physical environment of the school, as well as the organization of teaching, were not statistically significant, a fact which confirms the similarity between the paired groups. In regards to vocal, the comparison between the groups, all reporter a significant difference (p=<0,001). Note, from the descriptive analysis of each of the domains of WHOQOL/bref, that in both groups, the field of the environment has the worst average (51,13 cases, 54,79 controls), followed by physical (59,15 cases, 67,09 controls), psychological domain (64,42 cases, 66,74 controls) and the field of social relations (65,31 cases, 67,69 controls). They also observed that the physical domain have statistical significance when compared to other domains of WHOQOL/bref (p=0,004), followed by the psychological domain (p=0,013), and mastery of the environment (p=0,036). The difference between the groups in the field of social relationships was not significant (p=0,585). Conclusion: the findings of this study we conclude that the values of quality of life (assessed using the WHOQOL/bref) show that low scores represent the physical domain odds ratio of 2.9 for the presence of voice disorder |

Conclusion: the findings of this study we conclude that the values of quality of life (assessed using the WHOQOL/bref) show that low scores represent the physical domain odds ratio of 2.9 for the presence of voice disorderObjetivo: Analisar a associação entre a qualidade de vida e a presença de distúrbio de voz em docentes da rede municipal de São Paulo. World Health Organization Quality of Life/bref (WHOQOL/bref).
