Resumo: The Plastic Arts works, when compared to other artistic modalities, have singularities due to their differentiated materialization process, as well as the fragility of the work itself and its support. These peculiarities, however, are not addressed in the current Copyright legislation, which may imply in great legal uncertainty for the plastic artists. In this context, the present study aims at analyzing the protection granted to plastic arts works, demonstrating the need to amplify the legislation in order to encompass in its protection the support in which the works are fixated, through the study of practical cases in which the destruction of the physical support directly affected the work itself
