Resumo: In this text the ideas of Freud and Ferenczi about what is trauma, which are its consequences and how to treat it by psychoanalysis are discussed through clinical cases. Each patient is observed in the light of the psychoanalytic theory in a given epoch and is shown how the theorization regarding what is traumatic needed to be changed in order to explain satisfactorily the cases and offer the patients better therapeutic results
