Accounting is an science that with the history of humanity begins and continue develop. So, this study aims to present the history of accounting its importance within organizations and what their perspectives regarding the changes that have been happen in the area of economics and technology. Using a bibliography study, was presented the history of accounting and its evolution in this scenario of globalization and technological innovations, as well as an exploratory research in order to obtain the perception of accountants about the future perspective of the profession. The result that I got was positive perception about the future of the accountant, because according to the accountants interviewed, the profession won’t end in the future and the professional is prepared for the technological modifications. Therefore the role of accountant will change over the years, new skills will be required, the technology can transform many functions of accountant, but is a fundamental professional in the sustainability of business within organizations
