TRIEB: a pulsão em Freud e Lacan

This work has the objective of studying the concept of drive (Trieb), starting from the freudian affirmation that this doctrine is the most important and, at the same time, the most incomplete one in psychoanalysis. For that, firstly, we went through Freud’s main works on the subject, characterizing drive in its elements and vicissitudes and accompanying it thoughout its binary divisions made by the author, until the arrival at the dualism of life drive / death drive. Next, we approached Lacan’s thought, presenting drive as a surrealistic collage, highlighting its distinction in regards to instinct and articulating to the subject the concepts of object a, das Ding and repetition, and also exploring its part of connection with the field of language and revealing it’s monistic character. Finally, we have noted drive as a constant and circular force, that does not cease to aim satisfaction even if fated to displeasure or destructivity. It’s partiality is evidenced upon the realization of human sexuality as marked by the lack of an object, another contribution that points to its location in the limit, beyond the pleasure principle and on this side of the representation, related to the death drive and the Real. The essence of drive is so, chaotic and producer of diferences, constant reaffirmation of the contingency that transpasses ceaselessly the needs and the existence of the human subject
