Resumo: The purpose of this paper is to visualize the events of the final years of the Cold War by analyzing the songs "Set World Afire," "Holy Wars", "Dawn Patrol" and "Rust in Peace... Polaris" by Megadeth, "As the World Burns", "Toxic Trace", "Fatal Energy "," When the Suns Burns Red" and "Material World Paranoia" by Kreator, and "Beneath the Remains", "Mass Hypnosis", "Arise" and "Dead Embrionic Cells" by Sepultura. Using musical sources in the dialogue with historiography, can understand the discussions relevant to the daily lives of young people between 1987 and 1991, as well as showing the criticism contained in the songs
