Artes na educação infantil: crítica das orientações e diretrizes curriculares

The purpose of this research is to verify how arts teaching is inserted in child education, taking as focus of the analysis the relationship between adaptation and autonomy related to artistic learning. This debate justifies itself in the sense that it may contribute to reaffirm the specificity of child education and explore the perspective of an education that does not only play its adapting function. The main sources of research adopted are the documents, Diretrizes Curriculares Nacionais para a Educação Infantil, Referencial Curricular Nacional para a Educação Infantil and Parâmetros Nacionais de Qualidade para a Educação Infantil. The basic concepts that guide the analysis of material are: experience, formation, adaptation, autonomy, individuation, art, cultural industry and mimesis defined based on the authors of critical theory. It is based on the hypothesis that the pedagogical practises of art teaching suggested by the curricular guidance and orientation favour more adaptation than child autonomy. The documents analyzed show that even the art, that has an emancipator characteristic, has been transmitted in the institutions of child education mainly as an instrumental knowledge, thus, art teaching is another item that corroborates to accomplishing subject s adaptation. This way, knowledge related to arts instead of exciting different ways of thinking appears as a kind of knowledge that is related only to the demands of nowadays society, that is, all is immediately given
