The movie Her (2013), from diretor Spike Jonze, is the analysis object of this monograph about the discussion of cinema as a symptom of culture. The great number of cinematographic productions contemplating the man-machine relation in the recent history of this media, with particular importance to the force of the paper exerted by the computer and its software in the constitution of the subjectivities, reflects the relevance of the discussion of the theme to the contemporary cultural context. Her was chosen bacause it is a legitimate representative of so-called author cinema, thus making an "exception" to the Hollywood production and distribution scales. The theoretical references that support this work are linked to the themes of culture as a symptom and post-human condition. A wide use is made of the bibliography referring to the field of psychoanalytic semiotics in order to account for the aforementioned cuts, using authors such as Lucia Santaella, Oscar Cesarotto and João Fantini, among others
