This research has as its object the religious practices and political action of women from Belo Monte, in the hinterland of Bahia, as well as the relationship of women with Antônio Conselheiro in Canudos, analyzed from a gender perspective. The narratives in relation to Belo Monte based on the idea of winner and loser, in addition to leaving aside the history of those considered to be losers, made women's narratives invisible by silencing this memory. Research, having gender issues as one of its theoretical horizons, recovers these stories, their daily activities and knowledge that, before the war, built and constituted the daily life of Belo Monte, in view of the social relations between men and women and between the Belo Monte State and community. It also recovers the syncretic religiosity present in the community. Methodologically, the research is based on specific bibliography on Belo Monte, interviews with descendants of counselors and monitoring, through participant observation of the Pilgrimage of Canudos
