Resumo: Visual disability is a phenomenon to which people are susceptible. Among others, factors such as aging can lead to this involvement. In Brazil, visual disability has grown, since it is derived from conditions such as vitamin A deficiency in the blood, or diseases such as diabetes. Severe accidents can also cause visual loss. Disability, in an important sense as vision, leads the person to reconfiguration of self-image, as well as to the restructuring of their social roles, resulting in a psychosocial transition similar to that of a person who loses a loved one. Recent studies emphasize that mourning is an expected reaction to several types of loss, giving mourning an oscillatory character, in which the mourner moves between being focused on the loss suffered, or on facing it. Such an understanding of the oscillatory character gives mourning peculiar characteristics to each mourning experience. When the mourning person is not given the right to express such singularities in his own way and in his own time, it runs the risk of making him go through an unrecognized mourning experience, which may be an additional suffering to that already experienced by the person who faces the pain of a stressful event. The objective of this study was to investigate the unrecognized mourning experienced in the experience of vision loss. The method used was the Clinical Case Study, deepening in the history of a person‟s life. Data collection was based on the transcription and thematic analysis of the participant's speech. After the loss of vision, a mourning experience was found, and it was possible to establish categories that helped to identify how factors such as prejudice and social stigma, environmental barriers and lack of understanding about visual disability contribute to the orientation towards loss. Factors such as family and social support, spirituality, rituals and the dynamics after the loss contribute to coping and restoration, identifying a mourning process reactive to the loss of vision, without a complicated mourning

Factors such as family and social support, spirituality, rituals and the dynamics after the loss contribute to coping and restoration, identifying a mourning process reactive to the loss of vision, without a complicated mourningA deficiência visual é um fenômeno ao qual pessoas estão sujeitas. Entre outros, fatores como o envelhecimento podem levar a este acometimento. No Brasil, a deficiência visual tem crescido, uma vez que é derivada de condições como deficiência de vitamina A no sangue, ou doenças como diabetes. Acidentes graves também são propiciadores da perda visual. Deficiência em um importante sentido como a visão leva a pessoa à reconfiguração da autoimagem, assim como à reestruturação de seus papéis sociais, resultando em uma transição psicossocial similar à de uma pessoa que perde um ente querido. Estudos recentes ressaltam que o luto é uma reação esperada para diversos tipos de perda, conferindo ao luto um caráter oscilatório, no qual o enlutado transita entre ficar voltado para a perda sofrida, ou para o enfrentamento dela. Tal compreensão do caráter oscilatório confere ao luto características peculiares a cada experiência de enlutamento. Quando não se confere ao enlutado o direito de expressar de sua própria maneira e em seu tempo tais singularidades, corre-se o risco de fazê-lo passar por uma experiência de luto não reconhecido, podendo este ser um sofrimento adicional àquele já vivido pela pessoa que enfrenta a dor de um evento estressor. O objetivo deste trabalho foi investigar o luto não reconhecido vivido na experiência da perda da visão. O método utilizado foi o Estudo de Caso clínico, aprofundando-se na história de vida da pessoa. A coleta de dados foi feita a partir da transcrição e análise temática da fala do participante. Encontrou-se após a perda da visão uma experiência de enlutamento, e pôde-se estabelecer categorias que ajudaram a identificar fatores como preconceito e estigma social, barreiras ambientais e falta de compreensão acerca da deficiência visual, que contribuem para a orientação voltada para a perda. Fatores como apoio familiar e social, espiritualidade, rituais e a dinâmica posterior à perda contribuem para o enfrentamento e restauração, identificando-se um processo de luto reativo à perda da visão, sem que haja um luto complicadoCoordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESapplication/pdfhttp://tede2.pucsp.br/tede/retrieve/50621/Camila%20D_Avila%20Moura.pdf.jpgporPontifícia Universidade Católica de São PauloPrograma de Estudos Pós-Graduados em Psicologia: Psicologia ClínicaPUC-SPBrasilFaculdade de Ciências Humanas e da SaúdePessoas com deficiência visualPerda visualLuto - Aspectos psicológicosluto não reconhecidoPeople with visual disabilitiesVisual lossBereavement - Psychological aspectsUnrecognized mourningCNPQ::CIENCIAS HUMANAS::PSICOLOGIAA perda da visão como vivência de lutoThe loss of vision as mourning experienceinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersioninfo:eu-repo/semantics/masterThesisinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessreponame:Biblioteca Digital de Teses e Dissertações da PUC_SPinstname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPTEXTCamila D_Avila Moura.pdf.txtCamila D_Avila Moura.pdf.txtExtracted texttext/plain204038https://repositorio.pucsp.br/xmlui/bitstream/handle/22681/4/Camila%20D_Avila%20Moura.pdf.txt051452856ffb2240d39f14fcbce3e65aMD54LICENSElicense.txtlicense.txttext/plain;
