This study addresses the persistent gender disparities in the labor market,highlighting that, despite improvements, women continue to face significant obstacles.Data from CEPAL and ILO reveal the underrepresentation of women and thepersistence of the subalternized figure, evidenced by the phenomenon of "feminizationof poverty," which underscores the socio-economic vulnerability of women, particularlythose from developing regions. Therefore, despite educational advances, women stillencounter inequalities in the labor market. The study also explores "global carechains," highlighting the female migration to perform caregiving jobs in developedcountries. The social, economic, and gender implications of these migrations arediscussed, revealing the exploitation faced by domestic workers. The Au Pair programin the United States is analyzed as a form of cultural exchange that reflects andinfluences power relations, emphasizing the influence of the state and challengesfaced by au pairs, such as low remuneration and vulnerabilities associated withmigration. The study concludes by emphasizing the interconnected complexity ofglobal care chains, highlighting the persistence of patriarchal structures, and the needfor more equitable policies
