This work aims to analyze the bishopric of Bishop Geraldo de Proença Sigaud (1947/1961) in the Diocese of Jacarezinho in the State of Paraná and its articulations in a special way on Agrarian Reform. However, first it is necessary to inquire about the Roman Catholic Church in Brazil in the period preceding its bishopric. We will see from the rupture of the relations of the Church with the Empire; we will notice from the New State an attempt to approach faith and power and to maintain the union between State and Church, with an effective collaboration of the government. In the bishopric of Dom Geraldo de Proença Sigaud, we will observe a series of political and educational articulations in the fight against modernity, with the attempt to rescue the good manners and customs much lost in his view; And for a search of a neochristianity. In addition to the fight against modernity, the bishop of the third bishop of Jacarezinho will be marked by the struggle against communism, which was considered a threat to the Catholic Church; an attempt to introduce Catholic parameters into the diocesan mentality, along the lines of neochristianity, in both religious and political circles. Finally, the model of agrarian reform employed by Dom Sigaud in the gleba of land donated by the government of Paraná will be analyzed. Based on the Encyclical Mater et Magistra of John XXIII, Dom Geraldo sought to show that an Agrarian Reform could be made without the expropriation of land
