Resumo: This article proposes a reflection about the stereotypical image of Brazilian women. We want to cross the decoding surface found in the stereotyped images present in contemporary media. Through the theory of memetics, developed by Richard Dawkins, will see this image in an evolutionary process inserted into a historical past. Our observation breaks the barriers of contemporary and look back to the colonial Brazil, to observe the relational mosaic that triggered the first depictions of the Brazilian woman.

Pretendemos descortinar as decodificações superficiais encontradas nas imagens estereotipadas presentes na mídia contemporânea. Através da teoria da memética desenvolvida por Richard Dawkins iremos observar esta imagem dentro de um processo evolutivo, ou seja, inserida em um passado histórico vivo e em constante movimento.
