Resumo: Growing old is a process that occurs in the course of life, reveals several metamorphoses in your own history, in the body, in relations with the world and with the other. The old age its a phase of development, configures a unique experience of the human being in the face of change, one of them is the experience of loss. The purpose of this study is to understand the elderly when they have a love loss, by a critical reading about old age, death and mourning for the existential phenomenology of Jean-Paul Sartre.Keywords: Aging; Mourning; Existencialismo; Jean-Paul Sartre; Simone de Beauvoir.

La vejez, como su fase de desarrollo, configura una experiencia singular del ser humano frente a las vicisitudes, uno de ellos, la experiencia de la pérdida. El objetivo de este estudio es comprender a los ancianos frente a la pérdida amorosa, a partir de una lectura crítica de la vejez, la muerte y el duelo por la fenomenología existencial de Jean-Paul Sartre.Envelhecer, enquanto um processo que ocorre no transcorrer da existência, desvela diversas metamorfoses na história, no corpo, nas relações com o mundo e com o outro. A velhice, tal como fase do desenvolvimento, configura uma vivência singular do existente humano diante das vicissitudes, sendo uma delas, a experiência da perda.
