Resumo: A systematic review on the assessment of Primary Health Care (PHC) in the care of the elderly population, using the “Primary Care Assessment Tool-PCATool” instrument. The studies met the inclusion criteria, the version used did not contemplate the specificities of the elderly. The evaluation of PHC in the health care of the elderly needs instruments that address the specificities of the elderly population to improve the assessment of their performance.

The evaluation of PHC in the health care of the elderly needs instruments that address the specificities of the elderly population to improve the assessment of their performance. Revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre la evaluación de la Atención Primaria de Salud (APS) en la atención de la población anciana mediante el instrumento “Herramienta de Evaluación de Atención Primaria-PCATool”. Los estudios que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión utilizaron versiones que no abordaron las especificidades de los ancianos. La evaluación de la APS en la atención de la salud del anciano requiere de instrumentos que aborden las especificidades de la población anciana para evaluar mejor su desempeño. Uma revisão sistemática da literatura sobre a avaliação da Atenção Primária a Saúde (APS) no cuidado à população idosa através do uso do instrumento “Primary Care Assessment Tool-PCATool”. Os estudos que atenderam os critérios de inclusão utilizaram versões que não contemplam as especificidades dos idosos.
