Resumo: This descriptive, theoretical-reflective, literature review study aimed to present the Social Legal Protection and Psychological Support Nucleus (NPJ) and its performance in the face of the threat/violation of the rights of elderly citizens to their protection/promotion of rights. The cases presented involve abandonment and neglect, physical and psychological abuse, financial and property abuse, sexual abuse, and self-neglect. Interventions encompass the restoration and preservation of the integrity and autonomy of the elderly; breaking and preventing patterns that violate the rights of their families and strengthening their protective function; the inclusion of elderly people and their families in Social Assistance services (basic and special protection); as well as the articulation with the intersectorial network.

Los casos presentados involucran abandono y negligencia, abuso físico y psicológico, abuso financiero y patrimonial, abuso sexual y auto-negligencia.  Las intervenciones abarcan la restauración y preservación de la integridad y autonomía de las personas mayores; romper y prevenir patrones que vulneren los derechos de sus familias y fortalecer su función protectora; la inclusión de las personas mayores y sus familias en los servicios de Asistencia Social (protección básica y especial); así como la articulación con la red intersectorial.Este estudo, descritivo de cunho teórico-reflexivo, de revisão de literatura se propôs a apresentar o Núcleo de Proteção Jurídico Social e Apoio Psicológico (NPJ) e sua atuação diante da ameaça/violação de direitos de munícipes idosos à sua proteção/promoção de direitos. Os casos apresentados envolvem abandono e negligência, maus-tratos físicos e psicológicos, abuso financeiro e patrimonial, abuso sexual, e autonegligência.
