Resumo: The objective of this study was to identify and understand the meaning of the experiences and the social context of elderly women who suffered sexual abuse. It consists of a qualitative study of an exploratory nature. The sample totaled four elderly women. The non-probabilistic technique called “Snowball” was used to study populations that are difficult to access. The collection took place from October to December 2019. The interviews revealed the difficulty of elderly women in understanding that they suffered sexual abuse.

Consiste en un estudio cualitativo de naturaleza exploratoria. La muestra totalizó cuatro mujeres mayores. La técnica no probabilística llamada "Bola de nieve" se utilizó para estudiar poblaciones de difícil acceso. La colección tuvo lugar de octubre a diciembre de 2019. Las entrevistas revelaron la dificultad de las mujeres mayores para comprender que sufrieron abuso sexual. O objetivo desse estudo foi identificar e compreender o significado das vivências e o contexto social das mulheres idosas que sofreram abuso sexual. Compõe-se de um estudo qualitativo de cunho exploratório. A amostra totalizou quatro mulheres idosas. Foi utilizada a técnica não probabilística denominada “Bola de Neve” usada para estudar populações difíceis de serem acessadas. A coleta ocorreu no período de outubro a dezembro de 2019.
