Resumo: Aimed to identify the risk factors associated to metabolic syndrome in elderly, through an integrative review, made in the databases LILACS, MEDLINE and BDENF, in the period 2003-2013. We selected 13 articles, which highlight as risk factors for metabolic syndrome the obesity, the hypertension and the family history of diseases. Regular physical activity associated with a diet rich in fruits, vegetables and whole grains influences the control of the syndrome.

Foram selecionados 13 artigos, os quais destacam como fatores de risco para a Síndrome Metabólica a obesidade, a hipertensão e a história familiar de doenças.
