Resumo: | This article aims to analyze the literature evidences regarding health care strategies for the aged and the family. It is an integrative review which to select the articles were consulted Lilacs and Scielo data bases. It was evident that the implementation of public policies and programs for geriatric care are devices that have emerged to enhance the health care of the aged, however act in timely and fragmented way, with no satisfactory directions to serve the aged population and the family. |

Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa na qual, para seleção dos artigos, foram consultadas as bases de dados Lilacs e Scielo. Evidenciou-se que a implantação de políticas públicas e programas de atenção ao idoso são dispositivos que surgiram para potencializar a atenção à saúde do idoso, porém atuam de forma pontual e fragmentada, sem direcionamentos satisfatórios que atendam à população idosa e sua família.
