Resumo: The increase in life expectancy will make Brazil the sixth longest-lived country in the world, with a significant proportion of women, middle-aged, close to the threshold of old age, or even those over 60 years old, are in a climacteric/menopause situation. Climacteric, which corresponds to the transitional phase from the reproductive to the nonreproductive period; and menopause, in turn, which is the natural cessation of menstruation, with both events requiring further research, especially if carried out from a health promotion approach, such as the one in this study. The results suggest that, in fact, most women have the most diverse percentages of symptoms, from moderate to very severe - a serious female problem that continues to pose challenges to science, especially in the case of these women in focus, distanced, often from health care centers
