Resumo: The study aims to analyze the impact of social isolation on the emotional health status of elderly people living in a city in the north of Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a descriptive, qualitative study with data collected between February and March 2021. The presence of fear, anguish and uncertainty about the future was identified, in addition to being more anxious. It is recommended that the elderly receive support and support from health professionals to clarify doubts and diagnose emotional changes.

El estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el impacto del aislamiento social en el estado de salud emocional de las personas mayores que viven en una ciudad del norte de Minas Gerais, Brasil. Se trata de un estudio descriptivo, cualitativo con datos recolectados entre febrero y marzo de 2021. Se identificó la presencia de miedo, angustia e incertidumbre sobre el futuro, además de notar que están más ansiosos. Se recomienda que las personas mayores reciban apoyo y apoyo de los profesionales de la salud para aclarar dudas y diagnosticar cambios emocionales.O estudo tem como objetivo analisar o impacto do isolamento social sobre o estado de saúde emocional de idosos residentes em uma cidade do norte de Minas Gerais, Brasil. É um estudo descritivo, qualitativo, com dados coletados entre fevereiro e março de 2021. Foi identificada a presença de medo, angústia e incerteza em relação ao futuro, além de se notar que os idosos estão mais ansiosos.
