Demography, aging and health: an analysis of the interior of Portugal

Resumo: Changes in modern society and the improvement of living conditions and research in the technical-scientific field have had an impact on health by improving living conditions (individual and collective).This panorama which increased the average life expectancy produced an immediate effect that was the aging of the population. In this sense it is important to create strategies for active aging. This article presents a practical case of demographic changes, aging and health effects in a region of the interior of Portugal.Keywords: Demography; Health; Active aging.
