Resumo: Aimed to verify the quality of life of adults with chronic pain treated with acupuncture. Cross-sectional study, twenty participants were interviewed, mostly women, cohabiting and Catholic. Using the SF-36, the highest score obtained was the social function followed by role emotional. The lowest scores were in the mental health dimensions, and bodily pain, indicating, despite the presence of pain and disadvantaged state of wellness, a positive assessment of the quality of life in relation to their social interactivity and their performance in doing activities of daily living.Keywords: Pain; Quality of life; Acupuncture.

En el estudio transversal, se entrevistó a veinte participantes, en su mayoría mujeres, convivientes y católicos. Utilizando el SF-36, la puntuación más alta obtenida fue la función social seguida por el rol emocional. Las puntuaciones más bajas fueron las dimensiones de salud mental y el dolor corporal, indicando, a pesar de la presencia de dolor y estado de bienestar desfavorecido, una valoración positiva de la calidad de vida en relación con su interactividad social y su desempeño en actividades cotidianas.Palabras clave: Dolor; Calidad de vida; Acupuntura.Objetivou-se verificar a qualidade de vida de adultos, com mais e menos de 60 anos, portadores de dor crônica em tratamento com acupuntura. Estudo transversal, em que foram entrevistados vinte participantes, na maioria mulheres, todas vivendo maritalmente, sendo católicas. Utilizando-se o instrumento SF-36, o maior escore obtido foi na dimensão aspectos sociais, seguida de limitação por aspectos emocionais.
