Resumo: Socio-spatial segregation is the main Brazilian problem. In the city of Fortaleza, in the Sapiranga neighborhood, this conformation is revealed by the contrast between luxury residences and the invasions that have advanced in their area. The objective of this study was to investigate and understand the action of the agents that produce this space in order to predict possible consequences to the city over time, using the method of bibliographic review and documentary history, as well as data collection and interpretation. It is concluded that the main producers of this segregated space are the State, as the best investments are made in areas targeted at the upper class, the real estate market, which has invested in residenƟ al construcƟ ons that value "cloistering", and the criminal organizations installed in the neighborhood, which restrict people’s circulation in certain places and have deepened the feeling of insecurity.

Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo2020-08-26info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/2236-9996.2020-491310.1590/2236-9996.2020-4913Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 22 No. 49 (2020): macroeconomia e desenvolvimento metropolitano, regional e local; 963-981Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 22 Núm. 49 (2020): macroeconomia e desenvolvimento metropolitano, regional e local; 963-981Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 22 No. 49 (2020): macroeconomia e desenvolvimento metropolitano, regional e local; 963-981Cadernos Metrópole; v. 22 n. 49 (2020): macroeconomia e desenvolvimento metropolitano, regional e local; 963-9812236-99961517-2422reponame:Cadernos Metrópole (Online)instname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPporhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/2236-9996.2020-4913/32689Copyright (c) 2020 Cadernos Metrópole.info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessPalmeira, Cindy Rebouças2020-08-26T21:34:34Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/46632Revistahttps://revistas.pucsp.br/metropolePRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phpcadernosmetropole@outlook.com||cadernosmetropole@outlook.com2236-99961517-2422opendoar:2020-08-26T21:34:34Cadernos Metrópole (Online) - Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)false
