Resumo: | The expansion of agribusiness has drawn a new map of Brazil. In the northwest of São Paulo, competitive advantages associated with institutional and geographic issues have attracted substantial private investments in three main segments: sugar-energy, fish farming, and slaughterhouses. This work aims to analyze migration trajectories that permeate these sectors, in order to elucidate the new articulations woven between the region’s municipalities and the rest of the country and the world due to the action of those capitals. In methodological terms, semistructured interviews with workers from the selected segments supported the construction of migration trajectories representative of new socio-spatial hierarchies. This information points to significant transformations in that region, polarized not only by traditional regional urban centers, but also by important agribusiness locations. |

No noroeste paulista, vantagens competitivas associadas a questões institucionais e geográficas têm atraído vultuosos investimentos privados em três segmentos principais: sucroenergético, piscicultura e frigoríficos. Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo2022-12-10info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/5798810.1590/2236-9996.2023-5614Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 25 No. 56 (2023): território e inovação; 321-346Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 25 Núm. 56 (2023): território e inovação; 321-346Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 25 No. 56 (2023): território e inovação; 321-346Cadernos Metrópole; v. 25 n. 56 (2023): território e inovação; 321-3462236-99961517-2422reponame:Cadernos Metrópole (Online)instname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPporhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/57988/41170Copyright (c) 2022 Natália Belmonte Demétrio, Rosana Baeningerhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessDemétrio, Natália BelmonteBaeninger, Rosana2023-04-27T15:20:21Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/57988Revistahttps://revistas.pucsp.br/metropolePRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phpcadernosmetropole@outlook.com||cadernosmetropole@outlook.com2236-99961517-2422opendoar:2023-04-27T15:20:21Cadernos Metrópole (Online) - Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)false |
