Resumo: In the context of the Anthropocene, the climate crisis reveals States’ limitations to develop effective mitigation strategies. In addition, the growing levels of urbanization around the world will bring considerable climatic impacts to cities. These factors help to explain urban engagement in the international climate policy. In spite of this, the Brazilian literature has not yet provided an integrated analysis of the ways in which cities operate in this regard. To help fill this gap, I use the method of systematic literature review. As a result, I propose three integrative perspectives: scales, networks and technologies. These three conceptions reveal strategies through which cities have been active in the international climate policy, such as local-global activism, participation in transnational networks, and the construction of smart cities.

Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo2020-04-30info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/2236-9996.2020-480110.1590/2236-9996.2020-4801Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 22 No. 48 (2020): a metrópole e a questão ambiental; 343-363Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 22 Núm. 48 (2020): a metrópole e a questão ambiental; 343-363Cadernos Metrópole; Vol. 22 No. 48 (2020): a metrópole e a questão ambiental; 343-363Cadernos Metrópole; v. 22 n. 48 (2020): a metrópole e a questão ambiental; 343-3632236-99961517-2422reponame:Cadernos Metrópole (Online)instname:Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)instacron:PUC_SPporhttps://revistas.pucsp.br/index.php/metropole/article/view/2236-9996.2020-4801/pdfCopyright (c) 2020 Cadernos Metrópole.info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessMendes, Marcos Vinícius Isaias2021-05-17T20:00:36Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/45137Revistahttps://revistas.pucsp.br/metropolePRIhttps://old.scielo.br/oai/scielo-oai.phpcadernosmetropole@outlook.com||cadernosmetropole@outlook.com2236-99961517-2422opendoar:2021-05-17T20:00:36Cadernos Metrópole (Online) - Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo (PUC-SP)false
