Resumo: The article analyzes the use of the concept of genre in elementary school, focusing on oral genres teaching. It presents the basic Bakhtin’s postulates and incorporates the contribution of Semiotics and the suggestions of the pedagogy of language teaching developed at the University of Geneva. It also offers an example of oral genre to be worked in the classroom.
