Zootheopoetics: Intersections Between Animality, Religion and Literature

Resumo: The article intends to think about the coordinates of an intersecction in which, in literature, elements of religion and animality make up a becoming – what we call zootheopoetics. Our attempt necessarily involves the uses of the term theopoetics, but, equally, the discussion, albeit introductory, of the main questions surrounding the emergence of a “field/space” of reflection and literary production derived from the perception of the limits of humanist and anti-humanist thoughts, something that in literary studies has been called zoopoetics and constitutes an effort to discern the event of animal becoming in zooliterature or animal literature. Subsequently, taking this into account, our attention will turn to reading a poem by Adília Lopes, seeking to carry out a critical experiment to derive from it the traits of a zootheopoetics.

Nossa tentativa passa, necessariamente, pelos usos do termo teopoética, mas, de igual modo, pela discussão, ainda que introdutória, das principais questões em torno do surgimento de um “campo/espaço” de reflexão e produção literária derivado da percepção dos limites exíguos dos pensamentos humanista e anti-humanista, algo que nos estudos literários tem sido chamado de zoopoética e se constitui como um esforço para discernir o acontecimento do devir animal em uma zooliteratura ou literatura animal.
