Resumo: | This article has how objective to analyze, briefly and synthetically, in which way the imagetic and the imaginary of the hell came up was and grow up in the Christian thought. For that, we will seek to describe the process of the theme, delimiting our work to the non-future and the Judaic sheol (Old Testament), to the theme of the beyond-world in the contemporary of Jesus (New Testament) and on some further apocryphal apocalypses, as well as we will pursue to comprehend the influence of the religious idea about it in the intercultural relationship of the Judaic people with their neighbors, especially with the Persians and with the Greeks. Finally, we will examine the imagens of the infernal place in the Apocalypse of Paul (Visio Pauli) and in the Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri, as well as we will point out some images that are in the first one as the second one. Thorough this path we will be able to see a short genealogical synthesis of the rise up and the evolution of this mythological place that still is in the Christian imaginary. |

Thorough this path we will be able to see a short genealogical synthesis of the rise up and the evolution of this mythological place that still is in the Christian imaginary.
