In the realm of public finances and economic stability, this study addresses the issue of fiscal vulnerability as a relevant topic. Fiscal vulnerability is identified by the limitations of using fiscal policy instruments to react to any fragility, external or internal.The existing literature on fiscal vulnerability analysis, up to this point, has been focused on specific evaluations confined to particular contexts. The fundamental purpose of this article is to conduct a comprehensive review of the currently available indicators and the respective methodologies employed for assessing fiscal vulnerability. Furthermore, this study aims to develop an assessment methodology through principal component analysis. The principal components analysis method was used to create the indicator. The use of this technique has enabled the creation of indicators that empower the classification and evaluation of the fiscal conditions of a representative set of 42 countries. The result achieved in this study is the conception of an indicator with meticulously defined criteria, allowing for direct and easily comprehensible communication regarding the fiscal vulnerability landscape in relation to a diverse group of nations
