Resumo: | In this research we performed the internal consistency evaluation of the iPad Test Your Brain application. Eighty-one elderly individuals were evaluated, who performed the evaluations, Mini-Mental, Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-30), socio-demographic questionnaire and the iPad app for cognitive screening Test Your Brain. Verifying the internal consistency of the iPad application Test Your Brain, aims at its clinical application, aiming at a rapid cognitive assessment and its use by any healthcare professional. Objectives: Check the internal consistency of the iPad application Test your Brain, determining the cutoff point for the iPad application Test your Brain and check the socio-demographic variables of the respondents compared to Test Your Brain. Method: Characterized as an observational, cross-sectional study with a descriptive-analytical approach, evaluating the reliability of the Brain Test application. The target population was aged 60 and older, patients and family members, who attended the medical specialties clinics of the São Lucas Hospital of PUCRS, as well as elderly people of the coexistence group, who did not present a confirmed neurological disease. The majority of the participants obtained normal cognitive performance in the Mini-Mental test, in the Geriatric Depression Scale, the patients with severe depression result were excluded, and a socio-demographic questionnaire was also applied, aiming to know the profile of the interviewees. Results: The internal consistency analysis was classified as moderate, the reliability of all items reached satisfactory levels in this sample (Alpha = 0.644). The overall sum of your Brain Test and the MMSE pointed to a statistically significant, positive correlation with moderate degree (r = 0.622, p <0.0001). The determinations of the cutoff points for the Brain Test, considering the normal classification detected by the MEEM test, were 72.0 points or more for elementary school, 80.5 points or more for high school, in relation to The cut-off point was attributed by interquartile range with a minimum of 85.0 points and a maximum of 88.0 points. Conclusion: It was possible to establish that the iPad app Test Your Brain has internal consistency related to its sub-tests. The cut-off point of the Test Your Brain application was identified for the results survey from the MMSE. There was an association of socio-demographic factors that were significant when compared to the performance of the Test of the Brain. |

Submitted by PPG Gerontologia Biomédica (geronbio@pucrs.br) on 2019-05-06T17:59:54Z No. of bitstreams: 1 WOLF_ALESSANDRA_RODRIGUES_DIS.pdf: 4044039 bytes, checksum: 0493a081022305c47a213bb080da95c3 (MD5)Approved for entry into archive by Caroline Xavier (caroline.xavier@pucrs.br) on 2019-06-04T11:29:05Z (GMT) No. of bitstreams: 1 WOLF_ALESSANDRA_RODRIGUES_DIS.pdf: 4044039 bytes, checksum: 0493a081022305c47a213bb080da95c3 (MD5)Made available in DSpace on 2019-06-04T11:58:41Z (GMT).
