Resumo: Through intellectual history and discourse analysis we seek to examine the changes imposed on Salazar’s regime, through the new situation resulting from the period after the Second World War. Under attention in the statutes referring to the colonies, specifically those of 1941 and 1954, and in the works of Gilberto Freyre and Ploncard D’Assac, is the objective of understanding the strategies of Salazarism to perpetuate itself in power and preserve its territorial possessions. Keywords: salazarism; intellectual history; speech analysis.

Bajo atención en los estatutos referentes a las colonias, específicamente los de 1941 y 1954, y en los trabajos de Gilberto Freyre y Ploncard D’Assac, está el objetivo de comprender las estrategias del salazarismo para perpetuarse en el poder y preservar sus posesiones territoriales. Palabras clave: salazarismo; historia intelectual; análisis del discurso.Através da história intelectual e da análise de discurso buscamos realizar exames das alterações impostas ao regime salazarista, através da nova conjuntura decorrente do pós-Segunda Guerra Mundial. Sob atenção nos estatutos referentes às colônias, especificamente os de 1941 e 1954, e das obras de Gilberto Freyre e Ploncard D’Assac, há o objetivo de compreender as estratégias do salazarismo para se perpetuar no poder e preservar suas possessões territoriais.
