Resumo: This essay explores the symbolic axis to some cosmogonic episodes in the Hebrew Bible, namely, the gathering of the waters of creation, the closure of the Flood, the genesis of Israel in history through the crossing of the Sea of Reeds, and the return of the exiles to Zion. Taking as its starting point the guide word yabasháh (dry), this essay proposes a new plataform for the aprehension of the magnitude of the divine plan for Israel, as well as its logical nexus.
